Bears Part Ways With G.M., Offensive Coordinator, Retain Head Coach

LAKE FOREST, ILLINOIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Chicago Bears have made some major adminstrative news, sacking both general manager Jerry Angelo and offensive coordinator Mike Martz.

Angelo was relieved of his duties as general manager after eleven years,

He had come under fire for the handling of Pro Bowl running back Matt Forte's contract situation, and for siging receiver Sam Hurd, now facing federal drug charges.

Martz was told by head coach Lovie Smith, who was retained for next season, that the team neded to go in a different direction on offense.
