Is it just me, or does it seem like every major gaming franchise is having a major anniversary recently? Not that it?s a bad thing, mind you! Kirby joins the list of characters celebrating years of achievement, and his big day celebration package will be an?enticing one for fans of the series. Whether you are a lifelong Kirby fan who has been itching to relive some of Kirby?s most treasured classics, or a recent fan of everyone?s favorite pink puffball (sorry, Jigglypuff)? who is interested in exploring Kirby?s much heralded roots, Kirby?s 20th Anniversary package for the Nintendo Wii should be a welcome addition to the collections of millions of gamers.

As of right now, the Kirby 20th Anniversary package has been confirmed for both Japan and North America, with a Japan release date of July 19 and a North American release date TBD. On the cusp of the release of the new Wii U, I can?t imagine that this will get released much later than the Japan date here in the Americas, but who knows what Nintendo will end up doing.

The package is set to contain 6 Kirby classics: Kirby?s Dream Land (Game Boy), Kirby?s Dream Land 2 (Game Boy), Kirby?s Adventure (NES), Kirby Super Star (SNES), Kirby?s Dream Land 3 (SNES) and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (N64). All in all, this a pretty fantastic lineup, as it covers a wide, although not complete, range of Kirby?s retro titles.
Many of these can either be downloaded on the 3DS or Wii Shop Channel, but having them all in one package is still an attractive piece for fans, especially for people who want to play the Game Boy versions of Kirby on the TV, which is otherwise impossible without a Super Game Boy for the SNES or Game Boy Player for the Gamecube.
The package also comes with a soundtrack and a timeline of the Kirby series, although details of? exactly what those will contain are still unknown. We will be sure to update you with more information on this delightful pink package as it gets released.
