Does your child have a love for ponies and horses? Come on down to Horizons East Stables for a Hilarie's Helpful Hints Play date that's sure to keep your little one smiling all day and asking for more pony ride time!
Horizons East Equestrian Center is a family owned and operated stable that has trained the Tri-Valley's top riders for over 25 years. They start with toddlers ages 3 and up! Come and discover this East Bay hidden gem!
There are 14 spaces available for this event and there will be 4 ponies giving rides and lessons during the event. Coloring will be set up in the lounge as well as refreshments for everyone while your little one waits for his or her turn to ride! The arena is covered, so this event is rain or shine!
Pricing: HHH official members, $25 per child. Gen. members $30 per child.
This includes a lesson, grooming, coloring, refreshments and a voucher towards future lessons or a discount towards a birthday party!
Please note all riders must wear long pants and sturdy closed toed shoes. In the event that it is raining, please note horses are frightened by umbrellas, so leave them at the gate before walking in to the stables/barn area.

Our "Little Ninja" Program will be geared towards the more playful aspects of martial arts. Students will learn how to punch, kick, & block. They will also learn stances and improve coordination. Most importantly they will have lots of fun. Each class will start off with a warm up routine to music and then we will move on to our karate activities. These activities will vary from class to class and include games, relays, obstacle courses, and more! Students will be continually reminded about when and where it is appropriate to use their karate moves. While the classes will be conducted primarily in English there will be a little bit Japanese thrown in which will mostly be numbers and a few names of our basic stances. (My pronunciation is slightly different than the traditional pronunciation in order to remain consistent with my teacher) Each class will end with the students lining up and doing a bow.

This will be an exploratory time for children to interact with their caregivers with the supervision of qualified staff members. Please keep in mind that this is free play and will not be coach guided. We will, however, be there to keep all play safe and encourage caregivers to spend quality time with their little ones. Families do not have to be a member to participate but must sign a waiver before entering the gym floor. We hope this will allow families to have a fun and safe place to encourage play and physical activity.

Forever fretting that his son's damaged fin (a result of the barracuda attack that killed Nemo's mother, brothers and sisters) will keep Nemo from being a strong swimmer, Marlin is constantly trying to safeguard his son. Holding him back. Even keeping him out of school (yes, a school of fish ? one of the many water-based jokes that you'll hear in this picture) with the hope that it will help keep his sole surviving child safe.

Description of classes, expectations, age requirements, and cost:
Each class uses a different project, which involves topics that can easily be related to by children. Examples are animals and cultural objects from various countries.
- Students will perceive an "alphabet" of sorts focused on five basic elements of shape families that combine to form all objects. By learning to view the world through these five elements and how to transcribe the information to paper, everyone, so-called "drawers" and "non-drawers" can learn to become artists in their own right and develop their own unique style of realistic interpretation.
- All drawing mediums provided are safe and non-toxic
- Children will gain confidence in their visual and observation skills, which will enhance their learning in schools and beyond. They will more incline to explore their creative potential and to enjoy the stimulating world of arts.
- The Drawing Through the Alphabet & Geography program is designed for 4-6 years old
- The Basic Drawing program is designed for 5-9 years old
- Cost for these two programs are $82/month based on 4 wks/month (pro-rated if the number of weekly lessons differs from 4)
Sunday September 30th: Weekend Playdate: Apple Orchard Exploration: Apple Picking and Apple Juicing
WHERE: Old Apple Orchard on Garden Lane in El Sobrante, CA
WHAT: Celebrate FALL with us at an Apple Orchard J We'll be touring the Apple Orchard, picking all of our own apples and then making delicious juice by "Apple Pressing" our own APPLES!
FEES: Apples you pick, welcome to take them home at $1.00/lb. To attend and apple press there is a minor fee, depending on the # of families attending, it will be between $4.00-10.00 a family. Soon as we have the RSVP's, I'll update the group!
What to Bring: The amount of apple juice we make will be just a tasting amount and we'll make sure there is enough juice for everyone to try! Please bring a basket or bags to bring the apples home too. Don't forget your camera, your little ones picking up apples and learning about the different kinds will be so cute!
